I was 15 years old performing a back flip at a gymnastics camp and landed awkwardly on my head and neck.  I couldn't move my neck very well after and it was pretty painful, but I could move my arms and legs, thus nobody was real concerned about spinal cord injury.  I was sent home and told to see a doctor when I could.  The next day, my parents took me to a local Chiropractor for the first time.  I went in nervous but walked out completely pain free feeling incredible.  I remember telling my mother as we left that was what I wanted to do.

On my journey through schooling, I considered different types of healthcare;  Medicine, Chiropractic, and Osteopathy.  As I researched the different philosophies and areas of focus, I eventually chose Chiropractic.  In 2001, I began practicing Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Sioux Falls and in the spring of 2002, we relocated our practice and Natural Arts was born.  I truly feel blessed to be able to do what I do every day and simply take care of my patients and feel just as blessed to raise our five children in such a great community.

After suffering a knee injury playing football in high school (back when Huron dominated! :)  I was sent to a Chiropractor.  To this day, I clearly remember watching patients limp and hobble their way into treatment rooms and coming out of the room a short time later walking fine, smiling, and chatting with the doc thanking him for his good work.  I was blown away, how was he able to do that so quickly?!  After my treatment, I asked the doc about his schooling and he provided me with some literature.  I had one of those clarity of life moments we all randomly stumble upon now and then, I knew right then and there that's what I wanted to do.

If you read my beautiful and talented wife's bio first, then you know our story of how we created this place and love living here raising our minions.  We enjoy coming here every day and it never gets old helping people feel better.  We each have areas we like to focus on which allows us to cover a lot of ground in what we can treat, and that fulfills our mission here, which is to find effective solutions to people's problems.  Personally, I have utilized our services to treat a bit of an injury list; ruptured discs in both my neck and lower back, a torn rotator cuff, and a knee injury.  I have used these experiences to learn from and provide better services to our patients.

There are a lot of good Chiropractors in Sioux Falls, which I think is great because we can help with so many things and provide a non-invasive (and often less costly) solution to.  I'm not anti-medicine, I freely refer back and forth with a number of medical providers in Sioux Falls, and I think advances in modern medicine have been incredible.  I just feel that we should first focus on our nutrition, our lifestyle, and keeping our bodies freely moving, all of which improves function.  Use medicine, but just less of it if possible.
