MUSCLE STIM

Electrical Muscle Stimulation has been used to treat pain for over 100 years. EMS is used to reduce / eliminate muscle spasms, block pain signals, promote the release of endorphins (natural pain killers), all of which reduces pain.  Our equipment allows for different electrical stimulation settings , with each producing a slightly different effect.

ULTRASOUND

"Therapeutic Ultrasound" is a deep tissue therapy reaching underlying tissues as deep as 1 to 5 centimeters.  This is used to treat a wide array of musculo-skeletal injuries, ranging from your typical back & neck conditions, to more complex issues such as tendinitis, bursitis, impingement, or to help speed up the healing time of certain fractures.

        HOT / COLD PACKS

Hot packs improves circulation by causing dilation of blood vessels, and improves flexibility of your tendons and ligaments, reduces muscle spasms, alleviates pain, and increases metabolism.

Cold packs have the opposite effect.  This will cause blood vessels to constrict, which causes reduced swelling, lowers overall metabolic & nerve cell activity, which causes a reduction of pain.

INFRARED

The lamp emits a warm radiant deep heat that is very soothing and works very well with the acupuncture treatments.  These 'far-infrared' waves ranging from 2 to 25 microns in wavelength coincide with the wavelengths and intensity of the electromagnetic radiations coming from the body.  As a result, these waves are readily absorbed by the body.

These waves are known to cause the following effects in the human body:

  • Raises temperature in tissue.
  • Expansion of capillary vessels.
  • Rejuvenation of cells.
  • Promotion of blood circulation.
  • Helps to move toxins from cells.
  • Improvement in Lymphatic system.
